Photos of the Loch Ness Monster

the Loch NessThere has been a lot of documented “proof” that the Loch Ness Monster is real. In most cases, it is due to photographs that are taken. These photos may show a ripple in the water of the Loch Ness or it may show much more. Do you believe that it is real? Scientists have been trying to figure it out for many years.

The Legend of Loch Ness

first photo of the Loch Ness MonsterLoch Ness is a lake that is in Scotland. It is roughly 22 miles wide. Its deepest point is 754 feet. Each year, this lake draws thousands of people to the area. Everyone who shows up seems to be looking for the “monster”. The first mention of the Loch Ness Monster dates back to the sixth century. At that time, Catholic legend states that St. Columba stopped the Loch Ness from attacking a man.

In 1934, a surgeon from London took a photograph of the Loch Ness. In the picture, there appeared to be a shadow of a creature with a long neck coming up out of the water. It was “the first picture of the monster”.

The Science

The legend of a “dinosaur that somehow survived and still thrives” is kind of difficult for science to prove. There are no photographs of it that can be proven as factual. Scientist are constantly looking for potential DNA links with dinosaurs, fish, and other species of animals. Their goal is to prove once and for all if it is real or not.

What Do You Believe?

Through the eyes of a photographer, whether the Loch Ness Monster exists or not is irrelevant. The lake itself is able to provide amazingly beautiful photographs. Most residents, tourists, and photographers are content to never know if it is real or not. They enjoy the myths and the fantasy that surrounds the area. What would you do if you could capture that one photograph that would turn the world on its heels?
